I just want you to say mommy one timeI have decided to open up my world and dedicate myself and my work to a cause that has a profound influence on my life. Autism.
My first painting in a series of paintings that I hope will provoke thought and contribute to awareness for the Autism community.
I am a mom to an amazing little boy that has Autism. My child is my inspiration, he is why I paint. I will write more at a later time but I just wanted to get this picture posted quickly. I just want to also say that I find the struggle that we face as a family trying to get the best for him is such a challenge, financially and emotionally. And to think, we are not alone. My paintings are a dedication to uncovering, artistically denouncing all the atrocities that we are forced to face by all those that really just cannot comprehend Autism and what we are going through. If you were in our shoes you might contribute, you might help, you might not stare, you might be friendly, you might consider "the best as opposed to only an appropriate education", you might join our battle to make the lives of the children with Autism a little easier. Believe me I will not hold back on my thoughts in regard to my art, this is one vehicle that I believe can creatively communicate, when words just seem like they are not enough to get the point across. Act as if you were one of us.

You'd commented on my blog, I replied and wanted to come check out your site. Incredible artwork, really great stuff.
I love what you write--about others understanding, not staring (big time!), getting the best education, etc. I'll never understand why it is difficult for society to see our children as human beings. I admire that you are going to open yourself, and your art, for sake of autism awareness. I look forward to reading & seeing more. Take care.
